Philip Atkinson spent his early career years as an aeronautical engineer at the McDonnell Douglas Corporation where he performed analysis, design, installation, checkout, servicing and launch of missiles, space vehicles, and ground systems/facilities. Strategies, procedures and techniques outlined in this book are based on proposal manager experience in winning service and hardware contracts valued from $50,000-$2 billion including a maintenance contract with the NASA Kennedy Space Center. He also formed a firm which provided successful consulting services to companies bidding on government services and contracts.
